Carollyne Tjong Ayong

My name is Carollyne Tjong Ayong and it is my quality and great passion to connect people with themselves and thereby make them feel more comfortable. I have a broad educational background and experience in providing treatments in the field of physical and psychosocial complaints. Partly because of this and my experience in contact sports and contact sports education, I have built a wonderful basis with which I can help people with various complaints and problems. For example, physical limitations, chronic (pain) issues, psychological problems, combinations of these (also called “psychosomatic complaints”) and social problems. I think from a bio-psycho-social perspective and look at everyone’s personal situation and needs.

During my university education I worked in healthcare and I practiced a lot of sports. After graduating, I devoted two years full time to further training and education in Martial Arts. After that I started my own practice. That was in 2011. I offer Individual Guidance, Massage Treatments, training Self-Defense & Defensibility and therapeutic Cuddle Sessions.

My services seem very different, in my experience they are just different forms. They all achieve the same goal: to promote well-being. And in terms of content they are all about the same principles: distance & proximity, feeling & indicating boundaries, respect for others & for yourself, strength & flexibility, seeing yourself & being seen, imbalance & balance and learning to be alert & relax at the right time.

I am good at looking, listening and feeling what moves people, what touches them and how they react to this. Experience shows that I easily find a connection with body-oriented and/or psychosocial therapies previously followed by clients, so that I can support them in practicing and incorporating the skills learned there. These phases of course usually overlap.

I regularly follow further training in the form of courses and workshops, which allows me to continue and develop whithin my field. I test my role as a care provider through intervision.

I think it is necessary to continue to broaden and deepen my knowlegde in order to practice my profession properly. With great pleasure I learn new methods to support my clients as well as possible with their ailments, or to simply let them enjoy relaxation and more flow in life.

My vision and mission for my practice:
Reducing the unnecessary lack of necessary life needs: touch, relaxation and sincere attention. Why would anyone in the Netherlands – or in the world – have a shortage of this? Well-being is a human right and it should be accessible to everyone. That is why from 2021 I no longer work for money, and for the time being I will live on donations.
