That’s basically how Carollyne Tjong Ayong (Netherland’s first Cuddle Therapist) and Alma Gall (Laughter Coach) felt like when co-creating their new Laughter & Cuddle Workshop. Based on years of experience in their own fields, they combined their favourite laughter, play and cuddle exercises for this unique 5 hour workshop. Immerse yourself into this ideal fusion to boost your happiness, wellbeing, as well as a deep connection with yourself and others!

This workshop is an experiment in generosity, as it will be offered on a “Pay-What-It’s-Worth-To-You” & “Pay-It-Forward”-basis, so you are invited to keep the chain of unconditional giving going. The principles will be explained below.

  • 17:00 ———- End of the workshop and we say our goodbyes (or stay for the Awakin’Circle)

Afterwards, we warmly invite you to stay for the Awakin’ Circle: a meditation circle with one hour of silence, a sharing circle and an organic vegan meal.

TRAINERS

Alma Gall is a Laughter Coach, Actress, Performer and Trainer from Austria. Her laughter story in a nutshell: Laughter has always played an important part in Alma’s life. In her childhood her dad co-founded the Nonseum, a unique museum with creative and hilarious inventions that nobody needs, in order to make people laugh. This inspired her to explore the world of laughter further. She studied with the founder of Laughter Yoga, Dr. Madan Kataria and literally became very serious about laughing in order to share it’s great benefits with others. By now, Alma is a known Laughter Trainer who regularly hosts laughter tours, as well as workshops in Austria and abroad. In addition, she is a multiple TEDx speaker and is often invited for laughter sessions at conferences and events. Through her work, Alma aims at promoting a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Carollyne Tjong Ayong is a Cuddle Therapist, Massage Therapist and Self Defence & Defensibility trainer from The Netherlands. Her Cuddle story in a nutshell: Caring touch and body-mind connection have always been part of Carollyne’s life. From a young age she often sat behind her mom, and her little hands reduced mom’s migraines and neck pain. Big hugs followed. During her Martial Arts career she participated in competitions and taught practical self-defense. It made her understand how body and mind influence each other, and how important respectful and conscious touch is. Her pleasant physical contact with training buddies made her realize the harsh contrast with people who were less (or not) touched. On many occasions she initiated FREE-HUG-campaigns. Nowadays she has her own practice and combines all her skills to find a unique combination of physical and mental approaches to support her client’s overall wellbeing.

THE KARMA APPROACH OF THE “LAUGHTER & CUDDLE WORKSHOP”

An experiment in generosity, which both requires and fosters collective trust, support and creativity of the community

In April 2018 Alma and Carollyne met in Vienna during various events connected to Service Space, an international organization for generosity-driven projects. They connected instantly and knew that combining their skill sets and years of experience of hosting workshops would greatly benefit their participants. Thus, they developed the unique “Laughter & Cuddle Workshop” in order to promote mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, as well as genuine connection to the self and others through laughter, touch, relaxation and sincere attention.

But there’s more to it: Deeply moved by the values of generosity, service and trust, Alma and Carollyne also decided to merge their payment philosophy, which includes two elements:

1) “PAY-WHAT-IT’S-WORTH-TO-YOU”

By the end of the workshop you as a participant are invited to choose how much you would like to pay for the workshop. Alma and Carollyne trust to be able to cover the costs (see below) with the money of people who can afford to pay, while also giving participants with less money the opportunity to join the workshop.

2) “PAY-IT-FORWARD”

More good news: Someone who came before you made a gift and paid the workshop for you. Now it’s your chance to Pay-It-Forward for a future participant, so the circle of giving can continue. Thus, you are warmly invited to join this experiment of giving.

WHY GIFT-ECONOMY?

This combi-workshop provides the perfect environment to tackle this question and therewith connect with the Pay-It-Forward spirit within. In fact, you and the other participants can experience important elements of the gift-economy first hand: selfless giving, freedom of choice and the aim to create multiple positive ripple effects. In fact, one of the ripple effects is that with your monetary contribution you support Carollyne and Alma to develop and offer more workshops based on the gift-economy, which means that more and more people can benefit from it.

HOW MUCH DOES THE WORKSHOP ACTUALLY COST?

The Laughter & Cuddle Workshop requires a lot of logistics and many preparation hours. To cover all the costs for the workshop in Amsterdam (rent for location, materials, travel expenses, hour rates etc.) roughly € 1100,- are to be donated. The minimum amount of participants is 8 people, the maximum 20 people. Thus, the average cost per workshop/person will be calculated accordingly.
